Used in TiO2 coating and in the manufacture of other zirconium chemicals.

Zirconium Oxychloride (ZOC) is used as a source of zirconium to coat TiO2 particles. This enables the surface of the particle to reflect rather than absorb UV light which reduces the yellowing effect of sunlight.

Zirconium Oxychloride (ZOC) is a white crystalline powder with a slight hydrochloric acid odour.

Typical Chemical Analysis:

ZrO2 + HfO2*           36% min
Fe2O3                       10 ppm max
TiO2                          10 ppm max
SiO2                          30 ppm max
NaO2                        30 ppm max

*HfO2 accounts for approximately 2wt% of this total.

Also available as a clear aqueous solution containing  20% ZrO2
