Zirconium Oxychloride (ZOC)

Used in TiO2 coating and in the manufacture of other zirconium chemicals.

Zirconium Oxychloride (ZOC) is used as a source of zirconium to coat TiO₂ particles. This enables the surface of the particle to reflect rather than absorb UV light which reduces the yellowing effect of sunlight.

Zirconium Oxychloride (ZOC) is a white crystalline powder with a slight hydrochloric acid odour.

ZrO₂ + HfO₂*           36% min
Fe₂O₃                       10 ppm max
TiO₂                          10 ppm max
SiO₂                          30 ppm max
NaO₂                        30 ppm max

*HfO₂ accounts for approximately 2wt% of this total.

Also available as a clear aqueous solution containing  20% ZrO₂
